Internet Suicide Site Owner Arrested For Murder

Police have arrested a Japanese man who ran a suicide website on the Internet for killing a woman who paid him to do it. She contacted him through the website, and paid him $1,700 (U.S) to kill her. She was given sleeping pills and suffocated.

Her body was found April 16 in a city south of Tokyo. Police found a suicide note, but her car keys and cell phone came up missing. The man, Kanuzari Saito, has been charged with violating narcotic and psychotropic drug control laws.

Saito was arrested in July for selling sleeping pills to 10 people through his website. One has died and police are investigating. Japan has the highest suicide rate in the industrialized world, topping over 30,000 in 2006. Read more »

Iraq Demanding $136 Million from Blackwater

Authorities in Iraq are demanding that Blackwater USA pay $8 million in compensation to each family of 17 victims. They also want the US government to cut all contracts within six months, and they want those involved handed over to face Iraqi trial.

The Iraqi government says the amount was because Blackwater hires employees who don’t respect the rights of the citizens of the country it is working in. They are challenging a decree in 2004 which gave Blackwater immunity from legal action.

In addition, they also stated that Blackwater’s license to work in Iraq expired on June 2, 2006. Read more »

Blackwater Shootings a “Deliberate Crime” says Iraqi Government

Ali al-Dabbagh, an Iraqi government spokesman has said that Iraq plans to take legal steps against security guards from the US firm Blackwater who killed 17 Iraqis last month.

The Iraqi government concluded that there was absolutely no evidence to suggest that the security convoy came under fire saying “It was not hit even by a stone,” calling the shootings a “deliberate crime” and calling for legal action.

Mr Al-Dabbagh said the Iraqi Cabinet was planning to weigh their findings with those of a joint commission “and subsequently adopt the legal procedures to hold this company accountable.” Read more »

Boy Killed Taking Short Cut to School

16-year-old Ahmad Rahimi was described by his class mates as a happy guy who got along with everyone. On his way to school he decided to take a shortcut across the railroad tracks frequented by students on a regular basis.

The stretch of tracks the students cross regularly sees trains going through at speeds close to 80 mph. Ahmad failed to notice one of these trains and was killed instantly. He is now the fourth person killed crossing the tracks since February 2005.

The tracks the students cross lead directly to the back of the high school as opposed to the designated crossing 200 yards away. School officials say students are counseled on the dangers and receive handbooks about crossing the tracks. Read more »

13 Year Old Kills Brother Over Dessert

A Florida boy was arrested on first-degree murder charges after he beat and choked his 8-year-old brother to death. Demetrius Key initially told police two stories before admitting he punched, choked, then banged his brothers head on the floor.

The mother said she had left Demetrius in charge of Levarus and a few younger siblings. Levares consumed a dessert that he was not allowed to eat and he also made himself bleed by picking his own scab.

Demetrius was afraid his brother would tell their mom he did it. A neighbor reported hearing 4 load bangs followed by 10 minutes of silence. Demetrius alerted his mom and told her that Levarus had “passed out”. Read more »

Woman Sentenced to Die for Giving Kiss of Death

Kiss killChina: Xia Xinfeng has been sentence to death for killing her partner. Xinfeng, suspecting that her lover was cheating on her, slipped a capsule of rat poison into his mouth during a kiss.

The capsule proved fatal within a short space of time. According to local media reports her lover, Mao Ansheng, had been spotted “talking” to another woman.

“The couple had said that if either one of them cheated on the other, he or she would have to die,” reported the Shanghai Daily. Read more »
